VISITOR VISA

A Canadian visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa) allows foreign nationals travel to Canada temporarily for tourism, family visits, or business.


Who Can apply: anyone who wants to visit Canada temporarily.


Requirements: A valid travel document (passport),  proof of ties to your home country, sufficient funds to cover your stay.


Validity: Up to 10 years

POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT

VISITOR VISA

A Canadian study permit is an official document from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that lets you study at approved schools in Canada for more than six months.


Requirements: Acceptance in a Designated Learning Institution, enough money to cover your tuition and living expenses, proof that you will leave Canada at the end of your study program.


Validity: Typically match length of your study program

LABOUR MARKET IMPACT ASSESSMENT (caregivers)

The PGWP is an open work permit that lets international graduates from eligible Canadian schools gain work experience in Canada.

Validity: Maximum of 3 years

LMIA is a document that a Canadian employer may need to hire a foreign worker.


Validity: 6 months

EMPLOYER-SPECIFIC WORK PERMIT

EMPLOYER-SPECIFIC WORK PERMIT

A closed work permit is the most common type of work permit in Canada. It limits the holder to working for a specific employer, in a designated location, and in the role listed on the permit. 


In most cases, the employer must first obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).


Validity: Up to 3 years

Qualified caregivers and their family members may be eligible to become permanent residents of Canada through one of the Caregiver Pilot Programs.
